Stacie's Story

“For the very first time, I felt a little less alone, a little less lost, and a little bit more confident.”

--Stacie, Program Participant

When I first met Stacie, I didn’t know she was struggling with postpartum depression and anxiety. After years of trying to conceive, she and her husband welcomed their daughter, Serenity. But instead of joy, Stacie felt lost and overwhelmed. Even leaving home was hard.

The North Grove gave Stacie a place to turn when she needed help.

It took incredible courage for her to join the other families at Baby & Me that first day. Thankfully, she came back the next week. And the week after that. Before long, Stacie and her family were joining parenting workshops, sharing meals at Family Supper, and building friendships that formed a strong support network for her and her family.

Together, we create a welcoming and supportive space for families who need it most.

Right now every dollar you donate will be matched, doubling your impact. Your end of year gift will make good food, family support and so much more possible for individuals and families facing so many barriers.

Months later, Stacie told me how much those early connections with The North Grove meant to her. The North Grove was a place where she could breathe, heal, and begin to feel like herself again.

Today, Stacie is one of the warm, encouraging parents who welcomes others as they take that same brave step through our doors.

When you give to The North Grove, you’re helping families find that sense of belonging — a caring place to land, and a community to grow with.

If you’re able, please consider making a gift to The North Grove today - and double your impact for families like Stacie’s.

With gratitude,

P.S. Your gift helps parents like Stacie find connection, confidence, and community. This season, it will go twice as far thanks to our matching campaign.

P.P.S. Your can also hear from Stacie herself here!

The North Grove gratefully acknowledges that we live and work in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi'kmaq people.

This territory is covered by the Treaties of Peace and Friendship which Mi’kmaq, Wolastoqiyik, and Passamaquoddy People first signed with the British Crown in 1726. We are all treaty people.

People of African descent have also shared these lands for more than 400 years.

We acknowledge the histories, contributions, and legacies of these communities and are grateful to live, work and grow food in Mi’kma’ki.
