Child Development

Engaging children’s imaginations through art, crafts, song, and games, the child development team encourages children to develop their language and social skills through play. These programs are for children under the age of 5 and take place while parents/caregivers engage in parenting programs.

Summer Camps

Sunshine Gang (ages 3-5) and North Grove Campers (ages 6-7) day camps give children the chance to socialize with their peers before they start grade primary. Each week has a different theme and full of activities, games, and new friends!

Parenting Programs

We offer both multi-week parenting programs such as Prenatal, Incredible Years, and How to Talk so Kids Will Listen, as well as once-time workshops like Bedtime Blues and Toilet Learning. These programs include a snack and on-site childcare is provided.

Home Visiting

Enhanced Home Visiting

The Enhanced Home Visiting program provides support to families with children three years old and younger. Families are assessed by their Public Health nurse and referred to the home visiting program. Families are then matched up with a home visitor who makes regular visits to their home, providing one-on-one personalized support in a wide variety of areas, parenting lessons, activities, and resources.

Parenting Journey

Parenting Journey provides one-on-one in-home support for families with children age 0 to 19, who are looking for extra support. Parenting Journey is self-referral program. To find out more about Parenting Journey and the Home Visitor program, read Diana's Story  or Kristin and David's Story on our blog.

The North Grove gratefully acknowledges that we live and work in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi'kmaq people.

This territory is covered by the Treaties of Peace and Friendship which Mi’kmaq, Wolastoqiyik, and Passamaquoddy People first signed with the British Crown in 1726. We are all treaty people.

People of African descent have also shared these lands for more than 400 years.

We acknowledge the histories, contributions, and legacies of these communities and are grateful to live, work and grow food in Mi’kma’ki.

                You are welcome here.
