It's time for The Big Social!

Looking for a way to share your love of food and community while supporting a great cause? Perhaps you're gathering this long weekend in gratitude of friends, family, and food and are looking for a way to give back? We have an amazing opportunity for you!

The Big Social is a fundraiser where Canadians share food to change lives. This October, you can cook, create, and connect to help fight poverty and food insecurity in our community.

Host a Big Social in support of The North Grove:

Cook: Make something delicious and deliver it to loved ones for a donation.

Create: Share your favourite recipe and make it with others who donate to your organization of choice.

Connect: Host a dinner party for a good cause and ask your guests to donate.

Funds raised for The North Grove from The Big Social will:

  • Provide good food to those disproportionately affected by COVID-19

  • Run cooking programs for kids and adults

  • Support community members to take civic action, safely and effectively

We love our Big Social hosts!

A huge thank you to our friend Aimee Wimbush-Bourque for hosting such a delicious Big Social event this weekend. This bestselling cookbook author put her love of cooking and community to wonderful use by hosting a pie-themed fundraiser in support of The North Grove!

Do you want to share food with those you love AND support The North Grove too? Join us by hosting your Big Social event this month!

The North Grove gratefully acknowledges that we live and work in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi'kmaq people.

This territory is covered by the Treaties of Peace and Friendship which Mi’kmaq, Wolastoqiyik, and Passamaquoddy People first signed with the British Crown in 1726. We are all treaty people.

People of African descent have also shared these lands for more than 400 years.

We acknowledge the histories, contributions, and legacies of these communities and are grateful to live, work and grow food in Mi’kma’ki.
