The We Stand Together matching fund will be launched on December 1st and offers donors an opportunity to double the impact of their support to The North Grove, which operates

a Family Centre and Community Food Centre in Dartmouth North.

“We know that Dartmouth North has one of the highest rates of poverty and child poverty in HRM, so we’ve committed a portion of our holiday funds to The North Grove to encourage others to support those in need,” said Jamie MacNeil, managing partner of BOYNECLARKE LLP.

“BOYNECLARKE LLP and the individuals stepping forward to make this campaign possible have been with us since we first opened our Community Food Centre five years ago,” said Wendy Fraser, Executive Director of The North Grove. “They played a key role in establishing our Community Farm, we’ve run the Blue Nose together and they supported the construction of our new Family Centre. We are so grateful for their support, especially during this challenging time.”

The We Stand Together matching fund will support The North Grove’s pandemic response, which has continued uninterrupted since March 2020 the organization has:

  • Produced more than 15,000 high protein, multi-portion take-out meals

  • Provided more than 8,600 produce packs, supplemented with bread, snacks, and high protein groceries

  • Placed more than 3,500 support calls via phone and video conferencing

  • Created more than 1,400 art kits to distribute to families

“Community need has increased over the course of the pandemic and our costs have increased along with it,” said Fraser. “This matching campaign will encourage others to give and help us respond to what’s ahead for the families and individuals living in this community.”
